The purpose of this day of acknowledgement is to help people understand the issues surrounding clean water access globally, and how this issue affects health, economy, and gender equality in developing countries. As a way of educating people on some of the issues surrounding the topic, I created this Clean Water Alphabet. I hopoe you can stop by when the show is up to read it in detail!

Makr Thanksgiving Kits!
I had lots of fun working with the lovely Sarah Weisman, of Makr, this fall to design and illustrate the pretty Thanksgiving kit you see here. And as of today, you too can have a customized Thanksgiving table scape that I've illustrated! Napkins, table cards, coasters, table runner— they've thought of EVERYTHING!
Mind the Map Book Release
I'm very excited to share that my map of Rome, created for Katie and Giancarlo Caldesi's Rome cookbook (out this September from Hardie Grant / Rizzoli), will be included in Gestalten's "Mind the Map"! Here's a link to pre-order and read more about this beautiful book. Now to plan that trip to Rome....
Summer projects
I'm feeling pretty tired (and happy) after a weekend trip to Rock Hall, Maryland. It was my first time visiting that area of the Chesapeake, which was nice to have explored, considering I'm working on an illustrated map of this region right now. We ate piles of blue crab, dipped into the bay, and learned how to do the "rock hall wave" . The weekend wrapped up with a drive over the awesome Chesapeake Bay Bridge and into Baltimore, where I had a chance to see the neighborhood mural/campus map I did earlier in the year for University of Baltimore (some detail shots here). It was cool to see my work at that scale (the mural is 120' wide)!
In other news, I just wrapped up illustrations for a new book that will be available this October from Hardie Grant UK, called Man Made. Written by Dan Jones (who is completely hilarious), the book is full of tips, funny and serious, showing men how to be well-groomed and dressed for success. This was such a fun project! Here are some sneak peeks at the illustrations:
And more maps are in the works too. Soon to be available are my Hudson Valley map and my Portland Maine map (which I'm creating for Portland Trading Co). And produce guides will be for sale soon too, so stay tuned.

Greenpointers Spring Market!
Next Sunday, 4/26, is the Greenponters Spring Market, I'm also filling the photobooth with an "Electric Wildflower Garden". Hope you can stop by to see it! Here's a peek:
and I'll be there selling Goat Prints, Greenpoint maps, Flowering Weed Prints, Mother's Day cards, and more.
Delft Force
Friday was good. Sun was shining, and I had little time to play around with delft-inspired brushwork and color palette today, after working up a painting of my great grandma, Margaret. I've been working on a lot of spring-y flower things lately, trying to summon mother nature to warm up already. Just a few more weeks until spring. I can't wait!
Art in Greenpoint: Mediums
If you're in or around Greenpoint, Brooklyn between now and March 27, you ought to stop by Calico Gallery at 67 West Street for "Mediums," a show curated by Michael Hambouz, featuring works by printmaker Sara Marie Miller, Chantel Foretich, and a handful of other artists. Hambouz asked the artists to partake in a consultation with psychic Hank Hivnor, and then make work in response to this meeting.
One of Sara Marie Miller's beautiful prints featured in the show:
And here is a tiny, beautiful typewriter by Chantel Foretich, also part of the "Mediums" show, detail from a work titled "Cheevers Commute, 1953-1955".
Go check it out!
New print: Flowering Weeds of Brooklyn
I just wrapped up a new print, which I will be selling along with my map of Greenpoint and a slew of Valentine cards, at the Greenpointer's Valentines Market on February 8. In this drawing, you will find some of my favorite wild flowers growing in our borough. Hope to see you at the market!
Greenpointer's Valentine Market
I just wrapped up this sweet little poster for the upcoming Greenpointer's Valentine Market. Are you a maker? Maybe you should submit a vendor application then!
