Thank you to Paula Flynn for featuring my work on her sight, The Shopkeepers! She put together this write-up of my Etsy shop, which incidentally is the perfect place to pick up a Valentine's Day gift for your beloved. Cheers!
Finally! I made a Brooklyn Map—up for sale on Etsy now. And I think it makes a wonderful gift, don't you? I think there is some gifting occasion coming up or something.
I've been a big fan of Food 52 for a while now, so I was pretty excited to work with them on this map of NYC's iconic Black and White cookie, in honor of Robert Sietsema's New Book "New York in a Dozen Dishes." Reading the editors' account of this very-scientific blind taste test makes my teeth hurt a little, in a good way.
While drinking my morning cup of coffee and catching up on email, I had the joy of learning that the I Like Pig e-cookbook, for which I designed and illustrated the cover (and some interior illustration too) has been nominated for an IACP Award for best e-cookbook. Big thanks to the brilliant editor Rachel Wharton, amazingly talented photographer John Taggart, and the event mastermind and creative wrangler Jimmy Carbone (of Beer Sessions Radio and Jimmy's No. 43) for making this awesome project happen in a meaningful way. Read more about the project here.
I've got some new works on paper up at Tarpit Café in Brooklyn. Beer, pretzels, bears, pencils, Emmy Lou Harris, Swiss Army knives, and other lovely things in ink and gouache. Here's a peek at the work...
