It's really beautiful outside today. Sun shining, birds chirping, spring in my step, and so on... and I'm happily reflecting on the feeling of community I felt at yesterday's rally for Bushwick Inlet Park. My neighbors and I gathered on the steps of City Hall yesterday afterall to tell the mayor how important it is that they follow through on creating a park in the Bushwick Inlet area of Greenpoint. There was an encouraging turnout of over 300 people-- so many that the police wouldn't let everyone into the plaza (which was a bit of a let-down, but oh well). Hopefully DiBlasio hears our message and makes sure that Greenpoint (and all NYC residents for that matter) all get the much-needed park space that we have been promised.
