Attention stripe fans! The Art of Stripes, the latest book in my Art of series with Hardie Grant UK, is out! As a total stripe junky (I have SO MANY STRIPES IN MY LIFE), this book is near and dear to me. Tops to bottoms, scarves to socks, this handy little lookbook is full of inspiration for how to wear all your favorite stripey pieces, plus profiles of some of the women who've made this pattern a style classic. It's available now on Amazon and in fine book shops.
Man Made on Vice
Vice i-D just ran this great interview on the Man Made book with Dan Jones!
And here is one of the illustrations I did for the book — a portrait of Mr. Jones himself:
Ladies in Scarves
I'm on a sort-of, semi-vacation, so I'm drawing women in scarves.
on collections
When I was a kid, I was fascinated by my grandma Carrie's collection of tiny frog sculptures. One day I asked her why she started collecting them, and her answer was a shrug. She couldn't quite recall how she came into her fleet of froggies. Sometimes these things just happen. I always mean to start a collection, but never commit. I have three vintage yardsticks yearning for more companions. I had three pretty plates that I was planning to stagger across a kitchen wall one day, but I broke one, and so I'm now down to two, and can't see this collection flourishing any time soon. Not too long ago, I learned about my friend Betsy's impressive cardigan collection, currently numbering in upwards of 50 specimens. I started asking her to elaborate on how this happened. And so we started a little project. And that's all I'm going to say, for now.
